Short: Action Alert - Stop the Assault on South County

The County Executive just dropped a bill that targets our farms and forests for hyperscale data centers. 🛑 Despite a county-wide moratorium and massive public outcry, they are still trying to turn South County into a corporate dumping ground.

UPDATE: Thanks to the leadership of our Council Chair and the power of organized residents, this specific push has been held back for now, but the fight isn’t over.

I’m the only candidate in this race 100% publicly financed. I don’t answer to Big Tech; I answer to YOU. Help us protect the Rural Tier.

    No Data Centers in PGC

Imara has been a stalwart fighter against data centers even as leaders push them. When people say no, elected officials must listen. As a publicly financed candidate, Imara answer only to you, not tech oligarchs or developers.

    Left Handed Leftist Interview

I recently joined Carlos Childs of the Left Handed Leftist podcast to discuss why District 9 needs more than just a new representative, it needs a systemic overhaul. In this episode, we pull back the curtain on the "corporate-approved" politics of Prince George’s County and discuss how we move toward true economic justice.

We dig into the urgent need for holding developers accountable to the communities they impact and the critical lack of healthcare options available to our residents. I also explain why public financing via the Fair Election Fund is the only way to ensure our leaders aren't just sellouts to big-money interests. This conversation is for anyone tired of the same old promises and ready for a movement that centers the working class and grassroots organizing.

    Key subjects include:

    • Economic Justice: Moving the needle for residents, not just developers.

    • Healthcare Access: Addressing the disparities that leave South County behind.

    • Organizing Power: Why we need community organizers (not just politicians) in the halls of government.

    • Maryland’s Fair Election Fund: Using public financing as a tool to take back local politics.
