๐ Safe, Effective & Accessible Transportation
Transportation That Works โ For Everyone
Transportation in District 9 should be reliable, safe, and easy to access, whether youโre commuting to work, getting to school, or caring for your family. For too long, South County has been specifically underrepresented in countywide investment, leaving our neighbors waiting for buses that never come and navigating roads that aren't built for their safety.
As your Councilmember, I will shift our focus from "growth at any cost" to a strategy that actually moves people.
โ An Infrastructure-First Approach
I am championing a "smart development" priority that ends the pattern of growth without capacity. I will fight for policies that require roads, transit, and emergency services to be fully planned and funded before new large-scale developments are approved. We must ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with our community's needs.
โ Transit Equity for South County
District 9 deserves the same reliable, diverse transportation options being built elsewhere in the county. I will fight for equitable investment that includes:
Improved Access: Better connections to Metro and local routes tailored to our unique geography.
Dignified Stops: Real investment in bus shelters, lighting, and seating so residents aren't left waiting in the dark or the rain.
Complete Streets: Sidewalks and bikeways that safely serve the whole community, not just a few select neighborhoods.
โ Safety Through Care & Vision Zero
Roadway safety is a public health issue. I support a โSafety Through Careโ approach that integrates accountability with real prevention.
Zero Fatalities: I am committed to the Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries through better engineering, slower speeds, and person-centric infrastructure.
Safe Design: We need safer crosswalks, improved visibility, and well-maintained roads that protect everyone, whether you are driving, walking, or biking.
โ Accountable to You, Not Developers
Because I am a publicly financed candidate, I donโt answer to the private interests and developers who have historically driven unmanaged sprawl in our district. My only priority is ensuring that our transportation budget is spent on projects that benefit the residents of District 9.
