🗺️Planning our Shared Future
Development That Makes Sense & Involves the Community
✅ Get involved in the subregion 5&6 plans
✅ Ensure that our development reflects our needs
As the County updates its Subregion 5 and 6 plans, its so important that residents make themselves heard about the future of our community. I believe we must focus on strengthening and investing in our existing communities —places like Clinton and Upper Marlboro— rather than pushing unchecked development further south and in our more rural and undeveloped areas.
No one benefits from more sprawl. Any new development must come with the infrastructure needed makes communities livable: sidewalks, safe roads, accessible transit, reliable utilities, and well-planned public spaces. Past evidence suggests developers aren't willing to commit to these investments. Growth here should serve the people, present and future, who live here rather than the profit margins of developers.
Finally we have an obligation to protect our environment. That means development only where it makes sense, where the community supports it, and where it won’t undermine our shared air, water, and quality of life.
Prince George’s deserves a future shaped by thoughtful planning, community voices, and public interest, rather than sprawl disguised as progress.
